About this production:

The TV series Dark Secrets, written by Tre Vänner’s Michael Hjorth and Hans Rosenfeldt were broadcasted on SVT between Christmas and New Year 2010, with great reviews. Norstedts also released the book Det fördolda/Dark Secrets fall 2010 written by the same authors.

In the first episode of Dark Secrets (Den fördömde i Västerås ) we meet Sebastian in his childhood home, which he is taking care of following his mother’s death. At the same time his former colleague Torkel Höglund from the National Criminal Investigation Department in Västerås is in town to investigate the brutal murder of a boy. They bump into each other, and that same night Sebastian finds a letter in his mother’s house – a letter containing a dark family secret. Sebastian knows that he’s on to something, and to solve the family mystery he needs to join Torkel’s team. Based on false premises he manages to convince Torkel to let him start working again. All of a sudden he finds himself back on the police force as a detective. The case they are investigating starts to interest Sebastian in more then one way.

The two freestanding feature-length films were broadcast on December 25 and 26, 2010, on SVT1. With about 1.1 million viewers per broadcast and close to 35 percent of a total possible viewing audience, both episodes won the 9:00 p.m. to 22:30 p.m. primetime slot.
