Rickard Petrelius directs The Fjällbacka Murders

Rickard Petrelius has taken over as director of Tre Vänner’s production of Camilla Läckberg’s The Fjällbacka Murders series, after co-worker Daniel Lind Lagerlöf tragically disappeared during preproduction. Petrelius has won many awards and was already contracted to direct the third film in The Fjällbacka Murders series but because of the disappearance of Daniel Lind Lagerlöf he will now also direct the second film.

“Daniel’s disappearance is an enormous loss for Swedish film, and for me personally,” says Petrelius. “We have worked together before on productions. I know Daniel and have great respect for him as a director, which makes it easier to take over this work,” he added. Petrelius directed the Emmy-nominated Blueprint, Van Veeteren and Skärgårdsdoktorn (The Archipelago Doctor), among other things. Due to Lind Lagerlöf’s disappearance, production of The Fjällbacka Murders will start on November 14, a week later than planned.
